Did you know today is National Picnic Day? I didn’t either. Later today, my family and I will be heading over to San Francisco’s Marina Green near the Golden Gate Bridge for a picnic. We were invited to join Safeway in setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest picnic table. Watch the time lapse video of yesterday’s table setup below to get an idea for the size of this thing.
I’m looking forward to seeing Julia and her husband from The Frugal Find at the picnic. And I’m really excited to see (and possibly meet) Tyler Florence. We’re told we’ll be sampling recipes cooked up by Tyler with a new line of natural products from Safeway. Unfortunately, I think the event is by invitation only. But I’ll be taking a few photos and tweeting from the picnic if you want to follow along. I’ll write more about the food and the whole experience once it’s over. Let’s hope San Francisco can clear out our Summer fog just for the picnic!

It was great! We really enjoyed it. So happy Safeway is donating 8 foot tables to areas in need!
