I’ve always had a very crafty mother. Crafty might be an understatement actually. She is crazy with craft projects. She has always had the “Do It Youself” (DIY) attitude. I didn’t get that gene. It obviously skipped a generation because both my sister and I are lacking in the creativity department.
My daughter LOVES craft projects. I love the idea of them. But the more I think about it, the more necessary it’s becoming to have the DIY attitude. With another baby on the way, we really can’t afford to spend money on things that I can make at home for less. Next week I’m going to show you several ideas that you can make from home for less than what it would cost you to buy it! Plus, you’ll get to do something fun with your family!
If you want to get a head start and see some great ideas, check out two of my favorite sites. Pinterest.com and Craftsy.com (an awesome daily deal site just for crafts!) are two really fun sites to check out if you are looking for fun ideas.
Are you crafty? Do you have an amazing DIY project you’d like to share? Email us at [email protected]!

I’ve started making the cute hair flowers that are all the rage at home. They are really inexpensive to make and are super easy. (Except for the part where I burn the heck out of my fingers with the hot glue gun EVERY time!) I’ve also started giving them as new baby gifts and they are always a hit!

Hi Kristy, I know what you mean about the glue gun! I’m a mess with those things! I’ve got the flower hair clips on my DIY list but if you have a photo or idea you’d like to share I’d love to post it!

I have to make some this weekend for a birthday gift, so I’ll take a couple of photos for you then!
