Many of you may know we are expecting another baby. She was a surprise but we couldn’t be happier. Our 3 year old is going to be such an awesome big sister.

Yesterday we got some unexpected news that has changed the course of my pregnancy. I need to rest as much as possible for the rest of the pregnancy, along with other “fun” things ahead. I’m telling you this because I’ve decided to take time off from Frugal Day. I’m not going to be able to interact with my daughter the way I normally do and I want to spend as much time with her as I can before the baby is born.

Frugal Day has been a huge project for me and it’s really hard for me to walk away even for a short time. I’m sure you’ll see me on here from time to time but for now I have to focus on my family. You can always find me over at No Thank You Please for updates.

I’ve always had a very crafty mother. Crafty might be an understatement actually. She is crazy with craft projects. She has always had the “Do It Youself” (DIY) attitude. I didn’t get that gene. It obviously skipped a generation because both my sister and I are lacking in the creativity department.

My daughter LOVES craft projects. I love the idea of them. But the more I think about it, the more necessary it’s becoming to have the DIY attitude. With another baby on the way, we really can’t afford to spend money on things that I can make at home for less. Next week I’m going to show you several ideas that you can make from home for less than what it would cost you to buy it! Plus, you’ll get to do something fun with your family!

I wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year. I wish each of you all the best for the year ahead. Last year brought us many surprises and this year we anticipate the arrival of our new little girl.

I don’t know what this year will bring, but FrugalDay has truly been a huge blessing. I love hearing from all of you and how you’ve saved over the year. It really warms my heart to know I’ve helped in a small way. I’m hoping to continue on your next adventure too.

Just yesterday I posted an Amazon Wii Toy Story deal for $9.99, today the price is back to $22.22! We are going to see prices drop and fall all week long and again as we get closer to Christmas. We are also seeing items selling out faster than we can blink.

My only advice, when I post a *HOT* deal, know it may not last very long. If this is an item on your list and the price is within your budget, grab it. These are deals I’ve been watching for some time and can tell you when the lowest prices has come around!

Since I have been frugal blogging, each year I get a little sick to my stomach with all the “Black Friday” ads and deals. Personally I like “Cyber Monday”… no lines. I use to be one of those who would run to the nearest retailer at the crack of dawn to get the $1 sweater, so don’t get me wrong, I love a great deal. But over the years I’ve noticed many of the Black Friday deals are not deals at all so I’ve been staying home.

I’ve noticed many of the retailers inflating their prices before hand and then cutting them 80% the day of the sale to make it look like you are getting a steal. I’ve also noticed the quality of Black Friday deals to be less than great at times. If you buy a mixer for $2, you’ll get a $2 mixer. The strange thing about this year, so far anyway, is the deals are duds. I haven’t seen anything that would get me out the door and into the store.

I know a lot of us are on budgets and holiday shopping can be very hard on the pocketbook. I just want you to know I’m going to be posting as many of the Black Friday ads in advance so you can plan ahead. If you don’t see that amazing deal, you don’t have to wait in the ridiculous lines and help out your wallet by staying home!

With all that said, there is now a temporary Black Friday link on the home page. I’m going to try to have all the ads up by mid week so you have plenty of time to plan ahead!
